La China has been surfing for more than a decade, but got serious about competition eight years ago.Since then she's won numerous national and international events, and has competed for the last five years on the ALAS Latin American Tour.Finishing 2008 in a respectable sixth place after having missed four events.? But La China's real strength is her personality; with a drive and work ethic that put most surfers to shame, a smile that doesn't stop, and a winning personality, her extraordinary surfing is just icing on the cake, no wonder she's such a popular athlete back home in Venezuela.La China has been featured in numerous television shows and some videos, but a telling achievement was when the Latin American surf press honored her for being the most humble and persevering surfer in Latin America.
